These are original classifications, applied at the listing level rather than per screenshot: - **Panoramic**: Full-bleed backgrounds stretching across the entire screenshot, often with gradient overlays or lifestyle photography. Common in travel, lifestyle, and entertainment apps. - **Device-in-Hand**: A physical device shown at an angle, often held by a hand, suggesting real-world usage. Popular in productivity, finance, and health apps. - **Floating UI**: App interface elements arranged on a clean, solid-color background without a device frame. Common in social media, photo editing, and design apps. - **Caption Heavy**: Large text headlines dominate the screenshot, with the app UI as supporting context. Effective for apps with complex features like finance, education, and subscriptions. ## Screenshot Taxonomy — ASO Marketing Strategies AppScreens also classifies listings by marketing strategy: - **Social Proof**: Screenshots highlighting ratings, download counts, awards, press quotes, or testimonials. Reduces risk perception for potential users. - **FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)**: Screenshots creating urgency through limited-time features, trending content, exclusive access, or "join millions" messaging. - **Feature Focus**: Screenshots leading with a specific product capability or unique selling point. Each screenshot highlights one feature with a clear caption. - **Localization**: Screenshots adapted for different markets with translated text, culturally relevant imagery, and region-specific features. ## Searchable Dimensions Users can filter the screenshot archive by: - **Platform**: iOS, Android - **Category**: Finance, Social, Health & Fitness, Travel, Entertainment, Productivity, Shopping, Food & Drink, Education, Music, Photo & Video, Utilities, Weather, News, Sports, and more - **Layout Pattern**: Panoramic, Device-in-Hand, Floating UI, Caption Heavy - **ASO Strategy**: Social Proof, FOMO, Feature Focus, Localization - **Orientation**: Portrait, Landscape ## Pricing - **Free**: $0/month — latest screenshots, 1 collection, basic search, screenshot generator (3 slides, watermark, 6.1" export) - **Pro Monthly**: $8/month — Time Machine history, tag/strategy filters, high-res downloads, unlimited collections, full generator (unlimited slides, all resolutions, no watermark) - **Pro Yearly**: $5/month (billed $60/year) — all Pro features - **Team**: $10-14/seat/month — all Pro features plus collaboration tools ## Key Features 1. **Screenshot Archive**: Browse and search 5,376 real app store screenshots from 750 of the world's top app listings. 2. **Smart Taxonomy**: Filter by layout pattern and ASO marketing strategy, not just app name or category. 3. **Time Machine**: Track how apps evolve their screenshots over time. The scraper captures screenshots from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, detects changes using perceptual hashing for deduplication, and stores assets in Cloudflare R2. Listings are tagged with layout pattern and ASO strategy metadata. Tagging coverage is partial — 353 of 750 listings currently carry a layout tag and 596 carry a strategy tag — and tags are applied at the listing level, so these labels should not be read as a per-screenshot classification of the whole archive. ## Contact - Website: https://appscreens.store - Email: hello@appscreens.store
